Pam Grier being my well-liked actress makes it hard for me to rate this video anything lower than a 4. But, in all sincerity, it’s a fun, fast-paced movie of revenge and adventure on the high seas. Pam’s sexy presence makes it hard to divert your attention from the video, even if it’s to stay the tape to catch a bathroom demolish! Pam Grier in one of her more tame roles is clear to please.

If I had to narrate `Sheba Baby,’ the best I can near up with is Pam Grier Light with some really unpleasant mellow drama. I really tried, but this movie impartial didn’t work for me. The action scenes were dead, the acting was surprisingly abominable, and some of these characters were TOO stereotypical to even be humorous.

This Pam Grier film is incredibly tame. It’s nowhere reach as violent as some of her earlier films. Gone are the over-the-top images of Pam placing a itsy-bitsy revolver or razor blades in her afro. Pilot (D’Urville Martin) and his crew can’t bear a candle to some of the staunch villains Pam faced in her previous movies. It’s strictly by-the-numbers and almost has a made-for-TV feel. As for the awful acting, the baddies that Pam faces off with are as unnatural sounding in their delivery as I’ve seen. As a result, characters like Pilot don’t near across as threatening as they should or need to for the movie to work.

That’s not to say there aren’t moments or elements in `Sheba Baby’ that I didn’t be pleased it’s objective that when compared with Pam’s other films like `Coffy,’ `Foxy Brown,’ and even `Friday Foster’ that the movie fails. It is not one of her best performances, though. Her “avenging angel” persona has been soften quite a bit, so she is forced to rely mostly on her natural charm. Tranquil, I had fun with this film. A bit of a letdown, but definitively worth watching for the sake of curiosity.

The first disc is Tombs of the Blind Stupid. If you owned (I said “owned” because hopefully you’ve sold it by the time this box status comes out) the previous double feature release by Anchor Bay Entertainment, forget all about is as this disc blows their version away. Now you don’t only have to gape it in in Spanish with English subtitles as you can decide to explore English dubbed or subtitled versions. Some people retract subtitles and some lift dubbing, and Blue Underground Entertainment has graciously allowed both options to please fans. The special features include the alternate opening sequence entitled “REVENGE OF THE PLANET APE” as well as the English theatrical trailer and a Poster/Still gallery.

The second disc is “Return of the Putrid Listless”, and again it is considerable better than the unique Anchor Bay release. That version you can only watched dubbed, but here you can view it subtitled or dubbed. The Anchor Bay version was also not the complete version of the film. Blue Underground’s unique release is FULLY UNCUT for the first time on DVD! The extras include the U.S. & Spanish Theatrical trailers and a sill gallery.

The third disc is the highly antisipated third entry into the series entitled “The Ghost Galleon”. The version released in those ultra crappy “Brentwood” value pack (Die Hard “Blind Stupid” fans know what I’m taking about) under the title “Zombie Flesh Eater” was literally unwatchable so this it’s no wonder fans have been drooling over this release. Inludes a peaceful gallery and the U.S. Fright of the Zombies Triler, TV Spots and Radio Spots. Sadly this one is only dubbed in English. Oh well, you can’t have it all.

The fourth disc is the fourth and final film in the series “Night of the Seagulls”. Again there is NO COMPARISON to the unusual Brentwood value pack version entitled Night of the Deathcult. That was an unacceptable version. I’m tickled to look it properly released domestically. Includes the theatrical trailer and a tranquil gallery.

The fifth disc entitled AMANDO DE OSSORIO - DIRECTOR, is only avaiable in this box residence. It includes to fan attractive documentaries entitled “The Last Templar - Documentary on Writer/Director Amando de Ossorio” and “Unearthing the Blind Lifeless - Interview with Writer/Director Amando de Ossorio”. For the DVD-Rom it includes another documetnary entitled “Farewell to Spain’s Knight of Apprehension”. Mammoth disc to please us die hard fans.

Please sell your broken-down Anchor Vay Double Feature of Tombs of the Blind Dreary and Return of the Blind Dumb while its level-headed worth money as when this box site hits the stores, no one will want it. Have me, this residence is WELL worth getting, and it even comes in a coffin shaped box!! To top it off, a 40 page booklet is included which gives all the info Blind Tiresome fans ever wanted!

The blind monotonous collection is astonishing, it contains all 4 films in the series complete and uncut and a fifth disc with a short documentary on the spanish director Amando De Ossorio and an interview. The films are probably a mammoth example of the euro dismay genre with the amount of blood, gore and nudity. The films also have a tremendous gothic atmosphere and excelent music especialy when the templar knights rise from their tombs and inaugurate riding their horses its very creepy. I have heard alot of grand things about these films from other dread websites and when I finaly got to examine them I was not dissapointed well except for the third film Ghost galleon which I admit was a peice of crap.

Tombs of the blind listless which centres on an inappropriate cult of knights known as the Templars in the 13th century tortured and murdered innocent victims in a quest for eternal life. After a revolt by the local townspeople, the Templar knights were executed and their corpses left for the crows to peck out their eyes. Years later, fear begins again as the eyeless undead knights rise from their tombs to hunt their victims by sound. The victims include a couple on a hiss and an former friend, the girl gets fustrated with her friend so she decides to jump off the narrate in the middle of no where nice one!. The film wasn’t exactly repulsive but it was creepy as hell I absolutly loved it, the film was a different pick on the zombie genre which I notion was an unusual view the Templar knights are basicly mummified skeletons that wear robes and usualy hack or slit their victims with swords and drink their blood.

Return of the blind monotonous which is the sequal, those who have complained about the continuety of the films should realise that all the films on their maintain have different storylines and even the background of the templar knights is different. In Return of the blind tiring, the templars catch their eyes burnt out in the begining by the villigers for commiting human sacrifices, 500 years later the Templar knights return from the grave to terrorize a rural Portugese village during it’s centennial celebration. Sooner than later a microscopic group of people including the mayor, the mayor’s wife, a wife and husband and their young child ect. capture refuge in a deserted cathedral and must win a blueprint to dash from the Templars. This film was deffinently my well-liked out of the series since it was the goriest film (nice decapitation scene) and as cheesy and ridicioulos as it may seem you also fetch to watch a living slow horse……..

The ghost galleon was truly terrible while not the worst film I have ever seen I plan it was delicate finish, with cheap production values and an Ed Wood style of filmmaking and a poor script I unbiased view it was horrendous. The ship that they exhaust as background shots is a toy model ship worn in a bathtub incase you were wondering. A pair of models staging a publicity stunt on the sea in a motor originate mysteriously go after reporting a mysterious ghost ship wooooow. After learning the ghost ship has been seen along the meridian the girls disappeared at for years, a search sets out and discovers that the ship is inhabited by the undead Templar knights. The film has honest one gore scene and the rest of the film was bloodless and the acting oh dear which I didn’t assume would be possible is even worse than the previous films.

Night of the seagulls is the last in the series and is surprisingly superior and a tremendous improvement over Ghost gallion, on this outing the Templars haunt a fishing village where they rise seven nights every seven years to claim a virgin for their sacrificial offerings in return for the safety of the townspeople. I was cheerful when they brought succor the blood and gore while the film wasn’t the best in the series it was collected estimable. all four discs have trailers for the films themselves and a picture/poster gallery and overall I believe that Blue underground did a tall job releasing these obscure apprehension films and I highly recomend this especialy for euro dismay fans while other viewers should leer something else cause you might behold that it was a destroy of time and money like some other reviewers have said.

I idea it was money well spent even if it was a bit to expensive almost 90$, its better than ordering something like Strip nude for your killer (What the hell was I thinking!!? ) theres another addition by anchor bay but you can only win it on E-Bay. The films were unbelievable except for Ghost gallion and its prefrebly watched after midnight cause thats the best time to seek these.

“Possession” is one of the most romantic movies I have ever seen, alongside Tom Tykwer’s “Heaven.” A double-edged account of appreciate, passion, and words that can entice or betray, this is one of the few masterful films that actually brought tears to my eyes. Extraordinary acting, pretty direction, and one of the most unbelievable fancy stories ever seen in a movie.

Roland Michell (Aaron Eckhart), a brash young American scholar, is studying an dilapidated book of the renowned poet William Randolph Ash when he encounters an traditional treasure letter. After some digging, he theorizes that it was addressed to the more obscure poet Christabel LaMonte — but both poets were either married or in a long-term relationship. If he’s true, it would rock the literary world. He seeks the serve of Maud Bailey, a cool feminist scholar who has a particular fondness for Christabel’s work. Maud tries to bring him down to earth by explaining that Christabel was a lesbian, but Roland is undaunted.

They go to Christabel’s dilapidated home and unearth a cache of letters between Ash and Christabel, hidden away by her lover. Like all adaptations, “Possession” strays a bit from its fresh work (Roland is made American rather than English, many supporting characters are omitted) . But the spirit and tone of the epic are halt to the book. The core of the record is words. Words that are hidden and words that whine, words that could change a person’s life or perceptions — depending on whether they are read by the one they are intended for. Even the name of a microscopic child can change a man’s life, and his perception of the woman he loves.

But more than that, it’s an illustration of fancy in its different forms: There is the passion of the soulmates, Ash and Christabel; and there is the slack warming and closeness between Maud and Roland. As Randolph Ash says, “There are many kinds of adore.” Even though the novel fancy anecdote is okay by movie standards, it’s pale and insubstantial compared to the Victorian savor epic. (Maybe this is because Maud and Roland have the POSSIBILITY of a deep attachment, whereas Ash and Christabel have full-fledged, undeniable feelings) . This film isn’t haunted to explain fancy in all its glory and beauty, its wound and intensity.

The direction is comely and stately, with the shots of waterfalls and majestic obsolete houses. And Neil LaBute is astounding at choreographing puny hints of tension and attraction. He handles the shifting from one era to another expertly; one fabulous scene pans away from Maud and Roland, to rest on Christabel.

Aaron Eckhart does a solid job as Roland; he’s comely charming and twinkly-eyed, but not outstanding. Gwyneth Paltrow has a minute grief making Maud sympathetic, but she manages it (sort of) . It’s Jeremy Northam and Jennifer Ehle who bewitch the demonstrate. They radiate emotion, so distinguished so that merely glancing at one another has significance and substance. Lena Heady and Holly Aird also give inviting, if brief, performances as Blanche Glover (Christabel’s ex-lover) and Ellen Ash (Ash’s wife) .

This is a movie for lovers and lawful romantics, those who can like the beauty of the cherish chronicle. While not perfect, it’s a haunting and magnificent narrative, one of the most enchanting romantic movies I’ve ever seen. Highly recommended.

Gwyneth and Aaron have a subtle chemistry but it is not “quite” the mingling of spirits that occurs with Christabel (Jennifer Ehle) and Randolph (Jeremy Northam) and yet there are enough sparks to sustain them eager.

Is passion worth the turmoil and upheaval? Is this the tangle most people want? While the record of the poets is only a memory, Maud and Roland are impartial starting their wander and are fortunately single when they meet.

Maud and Roland lurk about in divine libraries searching for clues and perceive aged letters and journals. They are intoxicated by the concept that they can actually solve this mystery. They must shroud their good purpose while searching for clues.

They exhaust time reading the letters to each other, which is the most romantic “unusual” section of this movie. The Victorian “flash backs” are considerable more interesting on all levels.

The Victorian romance in this movie is astonishing, but the novel romance is considerable more subtle. Yet, who would not want to have a man read you poetry in bed?

Adapted from A.S. Byatt’s original by the same name. The movie is not the passionate fire the name suggests. However, this movie will acquire you intellectually from open to conclude.

Thoughtful Romance with an element of mystery.

A couple months ago I saw TOKYO! at a film festival in San Francisco. One of the reasons I went to the screening was because of Michel Gondry, who directed Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Be Kind Rewind. His allotment was actually one of three short films that are in Tokyo! Each myth takes station in the substantial city, but offers something different. The first, by Gondry, is about a young couple who are going in different directions. The second, by Carax, is about a sewer dweller who terrorizes the streets of Tokyo. And the thrid, by Joon-Ho, is about a OCD man who leaves his house for the first time in 10 years after falling for the pizza delivery girl.

I believe this particular film will aid from a High Defintion transfer because of the different locations and colors stale throughout the film. I treasure Howard Hawks’ films…Bringing Up Baby, His Girl Friday, Red River, and Rio Bravo are wonderful pieces of entertainment. As I was watching Australia, the unusual Baz Luhrmann movie with Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman, I kept thinking…man, Baz must really esteem Hawks’ movies, too.

As evidenced by the films above, the mismatched couple who fight and fight until they realize they’re perfect for each other (behold Noteworthy Ado About Nothing, Taming of the Shrew, and Moonlighting as other examples of the create) and the group of underestimated misfits who approach together to fight nefarious are two astronomical elements broken-down again and again by Hawks. Throw in a bit of John Ford’s The Searchers and its hard witness at racism leading to inhuman deeds and mix well and you have…Australia.

The pickle novel audiences may have with Luhrmann’s novel movie is it’s very, very earnest. This is straight ahead legend storytelling with its heart on its sleeve and hat and boots with never a wink to the crowd in the theater to say “ain’t these people quaint”. You either engage in or you don’t. If you do, like I did, you’re in for a hell of a streak.

This, I feel, is the flip-side to The Dim Knight. Respectable and obnoxious are trapped in something akin to a battle and an embrace in Nolan’s Gotham City. You root for Batman, but he does stuff that is on the disagreeable side of freedom and civil rights. The Joker is pure crazy, but he’s the most mesmerizing character in the film. In Australia, there are friendly guys and abominable guys and you are either really great or twirl your mustache cross. The main villain actually may be a bit too two-dimensional in that aspect, but it didn’t afflict my overall enjoyment.

Why? Well, yarn melodrama is hard to pull off…I’m talking about the precise stuff here. The fresh BBC production of Bleak House is a big example. There are very helpful and very, very abominable people in that anecdote, but the acting is so unbelievable you rarely if ever acquire yourself rolling your eyes (like whenever I’ve watched Smallville…see: terrible story melodrama) . Kidman and Jackman sell their characters…the displaced Englishwoman and the rough-hewn “Drover”. They are thrown together objective to, initially it seems, thwart a defective cattle baron from monopolizing the beef industry in the country. But the other gargantuan narrative, the main one in fact, centers around Australia’s “lost generation”. These were Aboriginal children who were fathered by white men who didn’t claim them. They were taken by the government, the mothers had no rights, and handed over to the church to be taught to “act white” and then work in the servant class. Nullah, played by the astonishing child actor Brandon Walters, is one of these “creamies” who has been hidden on the ranch now owned by Lady Sarah Ashley (Kidman) . Lady Ashley discovers what is going on, is timorous by the law, and works to support him hidden as well. Why the Drover cares so distinguished about Nullah becomes obvious later in the film (no, it’s not what you mediate…that would be too easy) and Jackman’s experience with stage and musical work does him proud here. He can do earnest better than almost any actor alive when he needs to and his later utilize of the f-word (the only curse I can remember from the entire film) hits so hard, in honest the factual emotional moment, that it kills. Russell Crowe was originally cast as the Drover but backed out. If Crowe had done the film, and I have liked him in other things…the Napoleon-era British navy film that I can’t remember the name of factual now, it would not have worked. Crowe never loses that bit of edge and the Drover, at one point, really has to fully shatter down and become completely vulnerable. Jackman shines at that point.

Anyway…a warning, the movie is long 2 hours and 40something minutes, but I didn’t realize that until I had left the theater. I saw it alone…I was out of town at a pediatrics meeting…and that’s a reliable thing. I didn’t have to veil from Holly the few times the movie hit me a bit too hard and do that cough-throat clearing thing we dudes do to shroud up a stray high-tail.

I was looking forward to seeing this movie when it was release leisurely last year given all the hype, and was not dissappointed!

Director, Baz Luhman, has served up a slab of nostalgia ala Australian style with all those sparkling elements we treasure from films of the 40’s and 50’s, breathtaking, sweeping landscapes, stunning costumes and two lovely actors in Kidman and Jackman who pick up the essence of the film. It nostalgia in every sense of the word, in every frame. The acting style reminds us of Bogart, Grant, Bacall and Dunne. The record is record in every procedure and fair sparkling. I loved the salute to “The Wizard of Oz”a really nice touch!

Of course we all know how it’s going to waste. Watching Australia was like eating a box of Quality Street chocolates. Positive I know what I’m getting, but I smooth admire it.

For those of you who want to expend a few hours (and I mean a few; it’s almost 3 hours) being completely entertained then thisis the movie for you. I only wished they had inserted an interval on it’s theatrical release and made the whole event at the movies a actual nostalgic experience.

I can’t imagine why anyone wouldn’t like this movie, unless you unprejudiced aren’t up for a feel apt describe. I want to behold more movies being made like this!!!! Well done to all!!!

Confused by all the Army of Darkness DVD releases (some in print, some out of print, some lingering halfway between)? I know I was. But I’ve done some research and figured it out, and here’s how it breaks down:

1. The current DVD release– was the current theatrical version of the movie with few extras. Noble recount, wonderful sound, S-Mart ending. If you objective want to leer the best available version of the movie, you might accumulate this one (if you can composed derive it; it’s out of print now) . It also has the familiar movie poster hide with an overly muscled Bruce and the hokey “Rude on gas” slogan.

2. The director’s cut– with the amusing Molly Hatchet mask and the unusual ending. There are many minuses: key lines are changed (not necessarily for the better) . Considerable of the footage looks really noxious, including the entire concluding battle. All the deleted scenes have the feel of an eBay-purchased bootleg. Bottom line: AOD fans will like to glimpse the material, but this is hardly the movie’s best presentation. It’s composed circulating but they’re not making any more of them.

3. The special edition– probably the best DVD release of the movie to date. The 2 disc version (which, like the director’s slit, is nearing the raze of its availability) is big. It features both the watchable theatrical version and the borderline-unwatchable director’s chop. It has commentary, unlike every other release, although the commentary is only available when viewing the director’s lop. It has a making-of featurette.

The single disc version (now the well-known version of AOD available) is only a runt downgrade; basically, it’s the theatrical release, lookin’ and soundin’ lovely, with the recent ending as an extra, and the making of featurette also included. (The commentary is sadly missing.)

In summary: You can’t go improper with the single disc special edition or the even better double disc special edition. Avoid the director’s prick unless you already hold the novel DVD and fair want to peer all the original footage in all its grainy glory. The new DVD is a dazzling assume if you fair wanna explore the movie, already.

2009 edit: to certain up some confusion in comments on this review, I wrote this eight long years ago. “Army” probably has five unusual DVD editions since then, and I’m sorry to characterize that I don’t care enough to maintain buying and comparing them. My experience so far has been that they maintain releasing fresh versions with slight regard for what people really want. In my eyes, a definitive version would be:

1. The main feature would be the theatrical version, fully restored and anamorphic.

2. Deleted scenes and the alternate ending would be cleaned up and well-presented as extras - I know this is possible because I beget an Australian DVD of the movie that has them looking a lot cleaner than I’ve seen on all the older American versions. It would be also substantial if they had a menu option to glance the theatrical slice with some of the deleted scenes added help in - in particular the longer (and more cohesive) windmill battle with the mini-Bruces should never have been trimmed down; I’d cherish to view that in plump as fraction of the movie. I’m as sizable a fan as they approach and I stopped buying the recent DVDs a couple versions ago.

For the sake of clarity, I unprejudiced want to say that there is no plot I could review any version of Army of Darkness without giving it five stars. It is a new classic which I can stare over and over again. Seeing the Limited Immoral Ashes purchase on Ash causes me to laugh out loud with every “My resplendent lady.”

Having said that, I can’t imagine why they are releasing yet another SE DVD site of it. I contain the 2-disc Runt Edition which came out a few years ago. I can’t procure anything different about this current “Boomstick Edition” that isn’t on the mature Dinky Edition. Both have the novel theatrical release and the director’s nick with 15 additional minutes of footage. Both have the Men Unhurried The Army featurette. Both have the Raimi, Campbell, Raimi commentary. The only thing I’ve noticed so far is that the Boomstick edition comes with some kind of 10 page collectible book which my LE plot didn’t have. But unless they made some drastic changes to either the video or audio to obvious up imperfections which I never noticed in the first region, I couldn’t explain buying this novel edition. Eventually the truth about the aliens is learned and all out war ensues. The monsters return and it is up to a dinky group to go to Antarctica and release the imprisoned Godzilla. Hopefully Godzilla will handle the monsters while the people can handle the aliens. Monster mayhem ensues.

This movie is far better than Tokyo SOS. We watch Manda in a more active role than previously as well as a number of other monsters from the early years of Godzilla. We even observe the American Godzilla and an upgraded Gigan. There is a montage that shows Godzilla through the ages. The only thing I didn’t like was seeing King Seesar as a villain. Seeing the alien leader have fits when things don’t go just was almost priceless. All in all this is the Godzilla movie that really delivers what all the hype promised. Check it out.

I’ll unprejudiced earn this out of the plot fair now: Ryuhei Kitamura is one of my current directors. He’s the Japanese equivalent of our Quentin Tarantino or Robert Rodriguez. He has an eye-catching visual style, the talent to write consuming dialogue, and nobody in Japan does action better. He’s also able to lift pure cinematic cheese with elements of other genre films and meld them together in bewitching ways that seldom fail to entertain, even if you occasionally roll your eyes. I’m also a lifelong kaiju fanatic who grew up watching Godzilla and Gamera on Saturday afternoons and saving up my shoddy allowance to choose the films on VHS. Ah, memories…

That said, my excitement level over this film was naturally immense. I mediate the millenium series of Godzilla movies to be among the greatest, boasting decent special effects and serious storylines which past kaiju films were known for lacking. This movie takes all of the improvements in those areas and throws other aspects waaaaay relieve to the sixties and seventies, when the movies weren’t scared to not be taken seriously. The funny-dressing aliens we all remember are support with a vengeance, looking like cosplayers at a Matrix convention. Hilarious. Speaking of “The Matrix”, Kitamura flaunts it’s influence on his filmmaking shamelessly throughout this movie, creating a team of mutant humanoids that could have stepped just out of the film and have all of the over-the-top abilities we saw in that series. This makes for some very sharp non-kaiju fight scenes; a first in a Godzilla film. The characters are also among the first truly memorable heroes and villains in G-film history. After this, I might accept into some minor spoilers, so if you want to peek the movie without quick-witted anything about the area, now’s the time to leave. Unprejudiced trust me, the movie’s excellent. Check it out.

Now, onto the monsters. Every major (and most minor) classic era Godzilla foe puts in an appearance (except for Kong, Megalon, and Mechagodzilla) . As a bonus, the atrocious American Godzilla even gets a guest-starring state. Needless to say, he doesn’t last long against the actual thing. Then again, neither do any of the other monsters, aside from the uber-powerful Monster X. There is also a hilarious dig at long-time Godzilla competitor Gamera in the film that made me laugh out loud, but don’t blink or you’ll miss it. Godzilla is largely absent for most of the film after being buried in Antarctica in the first scene. But once he’s unleashed as humanity’s last weapon, following a kaiju-powered alien invasion resulting in the destruction of all civilization, he wastes no time leveling every single foe in the film, one after the other. The fights are short and occasionally riotously cheesy. There is one shot reminiscent of “Shaolin Soccer” that I couldn’t contain my eyes when I saw it. I giggled about that one shot like a schoolgirl for, like, 2 days afterwords. As I have stated before, Kitamura embraces the cheese in the best possible design. The lead villain is also a riot. The guy throws an honest-to-god hissy fit nearly every time his monsters lose, which is always. It’s hilarious to recognize. He’s also beautiful considerable insane in typical Kitamura villain fashion which unbiased adds to the entertainment value. However, this film isn’t perfect; the pacing is off and many scenes feel like they were slapped together too rapid, a well-liked scrape in the budget and deadline-plagued Japanese entertainment industry. The balance between kaiju action and human action becomes hectic to in the second half of the film with so mighty going on. Some of the kaiju battles could have been a dinky cooler, too (Ebirah and Hedorah approach to mind) . Also, Mothra looks extremely trustworthy in this film but her performance as Godzilla’s only non-human ally leaves mighty to be desired. Altogether, this is fair grand a no-brainer for old-school Godzilla fans and new-school sci-fi fans alike. Despite it’s flaws, there is honest too worthy damn fair entertainment in this film to pass it by. This isn’t the ultimate Godzilla film (in my plan, that’s GMK) ; but as a celebration of 50 years of Godzilla stomping Tokyo, kicking ass, and taking names it is a rousing success.

I appreciate the trend of putting television shows on DVD, it never quite caught on for VHS, at least not like the DVDs. Anyway, this DVD includes some improbable Christmas episodes distinct to become classics like Spongebob and The Fairly Oddparents (the others aren’t all that engrossing in my view) . But where are the other classics that I have arrive to know and fancy, like Hey Arnold and the first Rugrats Christmas-The Santa Experience? These ones are truely special and tantalizing (and what’s more have stood up to year after year of viewing) . Gash has a mammoth stash of tall Christmas episodes of their Nicktoons, let’s hope there will be a volume two for next year. But frankly, the two first-rate episodes are worth the imprint of the whole DVD. Unless you have a DVD burner situation up to portray next year.

“Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Sunless Pearl” Review:

This is the strongest of the 3 films. Although each film definitely has somewhat of a “fly-by-the-seat-of-the-pants” type tale style (as if there were no strong script, but rather ideas that popped up on status), this one actually works and makes for a very fun viewing experience. Pirate Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp, who created this legendary film character) teams up with blacksmith Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) to support rescue the Governor’s daughter Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) from pirate Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Hasten) . Of course there is appreciate alive to as well as a curse. Depp walks away with the report. The savor interest (Bloom & Knightley) do their best to compete, but without Depp, this recount would have tanked. Fabulous special effects and plenty of swashbuckling action!

“Pirates of the Caribbean: Plain Man’s Chest” Review:

Although it has its moments and plenty of astonishing special effects, I felt that this one was somewhat of a disappointment. The Jack Sparrow character is not quite as quirky as he is in the first film, but rather a petite overdone. This film has a feeling of being made up as it was being filmed. Too powerful explanation of status twists and too many intricate ribbons to tie together things that were not originally intended to be tied together…this franchise officially begins to bloat with this 2nd installment. This time, Jack Sparrow must retract the curse of eternal damnation by recovering the heart of the slimy Davy Jones, which is inside the Monotonous Man’s Chest. Stabbing the heart would not only demolish Jones, but also site free Will Turner’s father, Bootstrap Bill.

“Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s Raze” Review:

This is one of those movies that requires multiple viewings to enjoy it and obtain all of the nuances. I was not bowled over by it the first time I saw it, and aloof consider that it could have been tightened up quite a bit in the editing room, however, it is a nice destroy to the trio of POTC movies. It seemed like the pressure to effect this installment better than the others is felt throughout; the first movie was nothing but a jubilant and spontaneous romp with Jack Sparrrow and his supporting characters. By installment 3, you sense an almost over-manufactured quality, as if the franchise is on steroids. The comments by the crew in the extras almost enjoy this out; especially in the Memoir of Many Jacks featurette. “How do we retain it unexpected? ” the crew asks, responding, “Maike it unfamiliar.” However, the irregular becomes “dumb” (the word they utilize to represent the filming of the scene), and especially when watching the multiple Jack sequence, I kept asking myself “Why is this scene vital? ” Although it is technically bright, it really does nothing to further the location along, and objective adds to the yawn factor. One thing Walt Disney really understood was splendid storytelling; even though a sequence maybe fabulous, if it doesn’t integrate into the whole, it should be removed. There are 2 deleted scenes on the disk; “I Like Riddles” and “Two Captains, One Ship.” The 2 Captains scene is extremely fun to scrutinize as you recognize the competition between Barbossa and Sparrow. It has the light naughty feeling that was section of the unique, but somewhat gone in allotment 3. And as most probably know, you must gaze the movie even AFTER the credits…there is a short scene at the demolish that wraps the bow up even more neatly to complete the trilogy. Without giving away a region spoiler, I have to say that the final sequence before the credits gave me hope that if there is another installment, that the producers realized they need to focus on Sparrow and slice the weight of all the extra storylines: the treasure chronicle of Will and Elizabeth, the Chinese Pirates, the Brethren Court, Tia Dalma, etc…it is fair too worthy.

This is a must have because all three movies are worth seeing multiple times. The blend of action and humor is outstanding and it is a pleasure to steal it all in over and over again.

My minor complaint is that the second and third disc seem to not have the same high quality as the first and it always takes some adjustment on the HDTV to maintain the quality consistent. The Samsung reports 1080i on disc two and three while one is registered as the 1080p; don’t know why. This should not gain you aid, because the quality of the trilogy is among the best we’ve seen.

If you have to absorb unprejudiced one Blu-Ray it should be from this series.
